Conclusion :
Wonderful feedback on the talk, which instigated many changes within CHUBB and brought about implementation of Conscious Bias training and increased awareness of the need for culture change. A space was created for women to voice their experiences, share their story and feedback about what needs to change.
Female Empowerment at CHUBB
International Women’s Day is a day of celebration of all that is wonderful about women. This year I was fortunate to be able to speak on the topic of Empowered Women at CHUBB’s International Women’s Day Lunch.
I spoke about my 5 Ps of Empowerment – presence, power, purpose, potential and possibilities. Specifically, how they relate to bringing about not just personal change, but corporate change as well.
There are many issues that face emerging and senior female leaders, however a focus on the 5 principles can lead to empowered women with an increase in female leadership resilience. Simply being aware of and open to empowerment and how it can affect the culture of a corporation can bring about positive change.
When you’re crystal clear on your purpose in life, you’re clear on what is important to you, why you are doing something, and you’ll learn to treasure your valuable time and energy. This is a valuable tool for women as we tend to try and be all things to all people.
When you are living on purpose, you soon realise how everything in life fits together to help you grow and evolve. This process makes it easier to let go of those things in your life that don’t serve or support your mission, purpose and vision. This is turn can also help you make quick and clear decisions in the workplace, making empowered women a valuable commodity to every business.
When we create a culture or an environment where women feel confident to voice their experiences, share their stories and feedback to create change, we create a movement of empowered women who are ready to live their best lives.
